Herb Kelleher, founder of Southwest Airlines, famously quipped, 'Hire for attitude. Train for skill.' That's how important the right attitude is to your company's success. But a positive attitude is harder to train than, say, database management or presentation skills. Look for it in your people, nourish it, and you'll soon discover something amazing: a positive attitude is contagious.

Tragic, isn't it? The truth is that no one who gives up on a dream will ever know how close he (or she) came to realising it. Nobody can guarantee that if you keep trying you will definitely succeed, but it's an iron-clad guarantee that if you give up, you won't.
Maybe even especially when you don't see the whole staircase. The truth is, faith is easy when everything is clearly laid out before you, when you can see every step along the way. But how many projects are like that? Most of the time, we have plans, goals and strategies, but we need a certain amount of faith to take us the whole ... to borrow an Americanism ... nine yards.
