It's so easy to forget that you are not in business for profit alone. A business lives on its profits (and dies without them) but it thrives on its relationships, its provision of value to customers and on the loyalty and dedication of its employees.
Michael Byrnes, StrategyPal founder
On the one hand, this is a cautionary quote: don't cheat your customers or provide them with sub-par products or services. Word of mouth is great advertising until the words are angry and the mouths vociferous. But on the other hand this is about the value of building lasting business relationships. Always think 'Win, win.' In every business transaction there's a way for both parties to come away happy. Find that, and you've found gold.
The assumption here is that profit is driven by good service, and that the greatest profit is driven by the best service. Well ... isn't it?
